How Do I Take a Screenshot?

This lesson will briefly discuss how to take a picture of your computer screen or capture a screen shot of your computer screen.

Snipping Tool

The Snipping Tool can be found on any Windows PC by clicking on the "Start Menu" then "All Programs." Then locate and click to open the "Accessories" folder. You will see the Snipping Tool listed and, you can click on it to open it. When it opens, it will be in a small window as shown above.

Using the Snipping Tool

When the content that you would like to take a picture of is on the screen, press "New" on the snipping tool pop up. The screen will become white, and you will have crosshairs that replace your cursor. Navigate the crosshairs to the top corner of what you would like to capture. Click and hold then drag the crosshairs over the content. When you have highlighted the content, release the mouse button. The image will then pop up in the snipping tool window, and you can save the image.

The above is an example of a screenshot that I took of my screen with the Snipping Tool
